What Causes Rapid Heart Beats And Pain In Upper Back?
hi for the past 3 years I have had very fast heart beats. I can be fine and suddenly it will start up. I feel pain in my upper back and throat area. I find it worse in the cold weather or when I am tired. should I worry and seek help. My doctor told me it was Bornholms desease but can it last for 3 years.
It looks like you have some arrhythmia most likely psvt, condition characterised by rapid heart of sudden onset and offset. This is associated palpitations, shortness of breath and chest and neck pain or heaviness. You should be evaluated for the same. You will need one ECG and holter monitoring, if it confirms the diagnosis then you can have medicine or minor surgery to cure it.
If not confirmed by these test then you will need electrophysiological studies which will confirm and cure the disease. Next time you have these episodes you cough hard to abort these episodes. Visit your cardiologist for the same.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Sagar Makode
