Rapid weight is either due to excess fat accumulation in the body or due to water retention in the body .
We need to differentiate between these two because fat accumulation is a normal response for excess calorie intake and reduced Physical activity but water retention in body indicated some problem in the
kidney or
liver or heart.
Simple way to differentiate is to check whether you have any swelling of your feet, if yes it points towards Water retention if no then it's fat accumulation.
If it's only fat accumulation then I advise you to get Fasting and Postprandial blood sugars , Serum TSH levels and revert back . Also start doing
Aerobic exercise at least 15-20 minutes per day .
If it is water retention you need to get
Serum Albumin ,
Serum Creatinine , 2D Echo test and revert back to me . Also reduce your Salt intake .
