What Causes Rashes All Over Body Along With Swollen Upper Eyelid?

I awoke this morning with swollen upper eye lids, fever and total body rash; have not eaten or drank anything different, was not outside to speak of, nothing new in the home. Went to the clinic but they had a 2-hr wait time and I couldn t stay. The rash does not itch. I have no cough, cold or flu like symptoms.

Dermatologist 's  Response
It seems that you have had acute urticaria or hives. It si a fairly common and itching is not a must to occur. generally this is caused due to reasons which are not apparent. If you have been taking some medicines like painkillers lately or cough preparations then review their use. To get relief you might like to have anti allergic like Cetirizine or Avil. watch out for breathing difficulty or swelling inside throat. If that happens, please report to Casualty or ER. Avoid spicy and nut containing foods. with these measures, you most likely will not have to visit the doctor but keep a stock of medicines like anti allergic ready in case you need them at night.
