I have had 2 separate instances of this happening to me......3-4 weeks apart. I ate a Beef cheddar melt (ARBYS)......with in 30-40 min I was seriously hurting in my upper abdomen, scale of 1-10 about a 7. I contiunued this way for approx. 3 hours....took some mylanta, a Zantac and drank some sprite with only intermittent relief......reminded me of severe menstruel cramps (only in upper abdomen) w occasional letting up of pain. Then pain began to subside, slowly easing off had very little gas (upper GI or bowl). ......Then I began to whelp out in a rash......back, inner thighs, stomach, scalp, really bad on my back. Went to urgent clinic next day they gave me a shot of steriods and some Raniditin to take. Suggested I go to my primary care physican who was taking a month long sabatical and have blood work done.....so I didn t. Low and behold 1 month later after eating a small double cheese burger (Long John Silvers) it happen again, same symptoms, not quiet so severe, pain or rash, but still highly uncomfortable. I had eaten cheese between the 2 episodes but not beef that I can recall, I prefer chicken, pork and seafood. As a mother of 2 who gave birth to 2 children naturally, not to mention passing 2 kidney stones....I understand the real meaing of pain and have a fairly high tolerance for it and these 2 episodes where not something I want to happen again if I can help it. So could I have an allergy to beef especially fast food kind or what? Have no other disease states, always exceptionally healthy, no more than 10-15 pounds above weight charts, do not drink, smoke or do drugs. Only Med. that I use is a hormone pellet for menopause symptoms, I am 55 years old and never had a food allergy, although I always thought I was lactose sensitive.
