What Causes Rashes Around The Vagina Along With Sore Throat?
Hi I have a rash around my vagina area. There are red dots all over. It itches and sometimes hurts. It looks like in one spot I have a cut. I feel like it could be from shaving but I m not sure. I also have had a really sore throat & my tonsils are infected. The doctor told me it was tonsillitis but that was 2 weeks ago and I m out of my medication and the white spots came back.
Hi. As per your case history you are having fungal infection called as tinea cruris. It is not related to sore throat. My treatment advice is - 1. Maintain good hygiene and bath twice daily. 2. Apply an antifungal cream like clotrimazole cream twice daily on it. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral fluconazole, itraconazole and terbinafine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
