Hi there

Thank you for your question.
This rash is caused by candida, a fungal infection. This infection is common in diabetics and also occurs in moist areas such as skin folds.

The treatment includes topical antifungals ( clotrimazole ) and if severe oral antifungals ( fluconazole or itraconazole). You would need a prescription for the oral medication but the cream to apply is usually sold over the counter.

If you control your sugar levels, the rash will occur less frequently.

Keep well.
