What Causes Rashes On The Arms And Neck While On Antibiotics?

hi, I had otitis media in my right ear last week. my doctor put me on antibiotics. its been 7 days now, the pain in my right ear is gone but I have mild pain in my left ear now. i have huge swelling on right and left side of my neck. i think its just enlarged lymph nodes. today I woke up with many red rashes on my inner arms, palms, neck, chest and thighs. they keep on spreading on my body.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Rashes may be due to drug (antibiotic? Ampicillin). Otitis media won't give rise to cervical lymphadenopathy as you have described. Infectious Mononucleosis is another possibility.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T.K. Biswas
