HI Well come to HCM If this was the chest infection (Bacterial) then such skin manifestation is very likely but steroid may not be given because this could flair the condition once the infection eradicate the skin patches would go away, no need to worry about, this could be late sensitivity reaction due to infection, toxin may be playing role behind this for reaction, but this is nothing to worry, everything would be fine soon, take care.
