I have been getting a cold almost every 4-6 weeks since November 2017. My primary doctor & urgent care doctors have prescribed various Meds each time. I get well & then after a week or so I get a cold again. I believe it must be something else & not a recurring cold. Have you heard of this before?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Recurrent cold may be due to post nasal drip or allergic origin or gastro esophagus reflux disease or immunocompromised state or Deviated nasal septum or polyps etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid cool drinks and freeze water avoid smoking and alcoholism. Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. Avoid allergen, if symptoms not improved please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
