I had a cyst removed from my armpit over a month and a half ago, it cleared and scarred. a couple days ago I noticed drainage then looked at it closer and felt like a lump again and it bled. its a little opening now and still draining is this an infection? another cyst in the same spot? what should I do?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Hairy warm areas are prone to get infected. In your case it could be a recurrent bacterial infection of hair follicle or a sebaceous cyst. A cyst recurs if its wall is not destroyed properly. Right now just do warm water compresses nad pply a topical antibiotic cream. If it does not seem to resolve,I would advise that you meet a surgeon or a dermatosurgeon.
Take care
