Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Susan Richardson Two and 1/2 years ago after my second neck surgery, I broke out in severe hives, and Norco was the problem. I suffered with them afterwards up until a few Months ago, and I hadn t taken Norco since I first developed hives. There was no clue as to what was causing them, they were miserable very single day and every single night. I was relieved they were finally getting under control. About a week ago, I became extremely stressed and they cam back, but not too bad at all. I take Zyrtec, and 2 would not them right out. Now (I can call myself really dumb), I asked for prescription of something for the constant pain I have with my neck. I was given Hydrocodone. I started taking them this morning, and here we go again. I am miserable. I will not take the hydrocodone anymore, but I worry it may take a while to get out of my system. I have whelps all over my back, legs, arms, my eyes and ears itch (as before up to a few months ago) and Zyrtec is not helping this time. I can t see my Doctor until Monday, and I need some suggestions to get me through the weekend, and hopefully some suggestions for the future once the hydrocodone is out of my bloodstream. I don t want to have to keep spending money on Zyrtec, and I certainly don t want to have to start seeing an Allergist and have to get allergy shots so many times week.

What Causes Recurrent Hives After Having Norco?
Hi, It is the drug sensitivity through mediation via histamine release from mast cells and neutrophils in response to particular molecules. It is the inherent body mechanics and nothing can be done much more than avoiding particular agents. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
