What Causes Recurrent Hives On The Face And Ankle While On BP Medication?
I ve been consistenly breaking out with hives and swelling of the lips and eyes and sometimes ankle area for over 6 months. I thought it was my bp meds because I m allergic to sulpha and penicillin so since I was on hydrochrozide and alomopodine. I thought all of sudden that was the cause we changed to clonidine and bp is still not controlled hives stopped momentarily and now they are consistent again went to an allergist and they just showed me what soaps and lotions to use and techniques with cool water and loose clothes. I m really starting to become emotional about this what type of specialist should I seek?
First it is a reason to change medicines. Without seeing you I cannot diagnose what is going on but the area is the part of the body where blushing occurs and bp medicines increase blushing by vasodilation so it is likely 1) the bp med is causing it and 2) it is not an allergic response that is going to immediately kill you but 3) it is fairly certain that it is a reason to stop it and get a different one UNDER SUPERVISION. sometiems stopping a bp med can kill you.
