What Causes Recurrent Itchiness In The Groin Area Despite Using Daktacort?
Hello.I am 38. I was diagnosed with fungal infection on my groin by my GP and anti fungal cream was prescribed. ( daktakort).The itching went away within few days of applying cream. However I continue for 1 week as advised by my gp.But the itching comes back soon after I masterbate . Again I start going through the process of applying cream until itching stops. My concern is why does the itch return when I masterbate?this cycle is going on for almost a year.Any help /advise would be very much appreciated.Thanks

Hi,
It looks like you are suffering from Jock Itch. Continue to apply Daktacort after washing the groin twice daily with lukewarm water and antifungal shampoo (Selsun-Selenium sulfide or Ketoconazole). Wear loose-fitting cotton clothes, abstain from sex for it is highly contagious.
You can take Fluconazole or so depending upon the severity of the infection after consultation with a PCP. It should get well. If not get all STD tests done to rule out STI.
