hello doctor, i am vineet weight=38 kg, height = 154 cm from one month i am having number of boils on my buttocks that may be 5 or 6 in which two were bigger and much painful having small openings ,the first one was treated at home with applying boiled neem leaves and two tabs of antibiotics(megapen) and ointment povidone-iodine but after a week since i was recovering from ,another boil occured near it and i applied black pepper powder to burst it open and as it happen started to apply povidone ointment and taking 2 pills of antibitic(ampoxin 500) day and night(10 tabs)..pus has stopped and boil are shrinking but iam fearing it could occur again please advice me .Before these two boils i took antibiotic(levofloxacin and clavam 625)for others so tel me the side effects they can have on me. thank you.
As per the history you are having recurrent boils. You have also taken multiple treatments and antibiotics in inappropriate dosage. This is a wrong practice and leads to resistance.
For your complain, it is advisable to get a complete haemogram and S. Random blood glucose reports done. Kindly consult a dermatologist and get a pus culture and sensitivity. Take an antibiotic according to sensitivity for full course.
Till then use antiseptic cream. Maintain proper hygeine and avoid friction.
