What Causes Recurrent Pimples On Face, Neck, Chest Behind Ears?
I m 46 years old and have had a very sudden outbreak of a zillion tiny pimples all over my face, my neck- especially the sides behind my ears, and chest. The skin is also very red and looks puffy, especially on my cheeks. This has happened a few times in the past several months- although not as severely. It seems to get worse each time. I am normally very clear skinned, so what could cause this?
Hi and welcome to HCM. Few of the reasons you can consider are- change in lifestyle, environment, exposure to excessive sun or outdoor activities. Do you use any hair dye or hair color recently before the symptoms started? Have you noticed any increased oiliness of scalp or skin? Dandruff or other superficial fungal/bacterial infections of the hairy areas can result in such rashes. Does it completely clear it off on its own. Apply Candid- Tv suspension before bath twice or thrice a week over the areas. Use a ketoconazole soap for bath. when you have rashes apply a antifungal-steroid cream over the red rashes for 7-10 days till it completely clears. Keep a note of when the rashes increase and avoid those factors. If the swelling and rashes do not get better, consult a dermatologist to test for any infection or other causes, and antibiotic and antifungal tablets if required. Hope this helps.
