What Causes Recurrent Round Lesions On Buttocks Area?

Good Evening Dr.P. I have a reacurring round lesion sitting right at the top of my butt crack. There s no bumps or anything like that, just a round lesion. It s happened probably four times now. I train in a facility where there are mats all over the ground surface. I train in Kung Fu so myself along with others are constantly rolling around on the mats exercising on mats both standing and on our backs or belly s , bare feet on mats. We fight on the mats. Also there are boxers who train there as well. Same thing sweat filling these mats. Everytime this lesion occurs It starts when I m training.First time it happened It was a burning sensation.I was in the middle of an exercise when I felt the uncomfortable sensation. When I got home I looked and my skin was peeling off in that one spot. This has happened ever since the location of the dojo moved. never happened at old dojo. Since the new location since May its happened 3 maybe 4 times. Thanks for your time, S

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

I can understand your concern for recurrent round lesions on buttocks area. Let me reassure you first that it is quite usual to get such kind of rash around the buttock area. It is due to the condition known as fungal infection of the area.
It is due to heat, humidity and high sweating over the buttock area which causes the formation environment suitable to fungus and growth of fungus at these sites. The most important measure to get complete cure is by maintaining a good hygiene.

The long term effective treatment for this is by application of antifungal cream such as Ketoconazole or clotrimazole for two times a day. An antihistamine such as des-loratadine can be taken to reduce the itching sensation. You can take further guidance from a dermatologist .
I reassure you that you will be alright soon.
Take care and all the best
