a patient with a heart pacemaker received antibiotic therapy for streptoccoal bacteremia(bacteria in the blood) one month later,he was treated for recurrence of the bacteremia. when he returned six weeks later again bacteramia, the physician recommended replacing the pacemaker. why did this cure his condition
Treatment of bacteremia of patients with pacemaker is quite complicated and sometimes it is not possible to eliminate the bacteremia. It is very difficult to eliminate bacterias from the pacemaker leads and device, so sometimes there is a need to replace pacemaker.
