What Causes Recurring Blue Spots On Thighs?

Hi I am a 30 year old female 5 5 160lbs. I am always tired and I keep getting unexplained blue sports on my thighs. They start to go away then they reaapear dark blue in the same spots again. Now I have more developing on my hip. I have went to my family doctor about the spots and being tired all the time and he ran a lab tests and my blood lab test came back normal. He is currently sending me to a sleep lab to figure out why I am tire d all of the time, but it still does not explain theses blue spots that keep reappearing and on my legs. I feel like something is still wrong and my doctor may have missed something because these sports are still occurring even after my lab results have can back but I don t know what I should do next. Could you give me some advice on what to do or where to go for help next?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history, you are having purpuric rash. My treatment advice is:

1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region.
3. Take a vitamin C supplement. Consult your physician for prescription.
4. Other treatment options are oral multivitamins and topical steroid to be given only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
