What Causes Recurring Fever And Abdominal Pain?

my son has a low grade fever that comes and goes (under 101 typically 100.4) and complains of stomach ache and mild sore throat. Tested for mono and had complete CBC (normal) mono test states had in the distant past. What else could it be?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Can I know the age of your son and duration of fever please? Since when it started, usually some kids have sore throat which is also called pharyngitis or tonsillitis and associated belly pain which is due to involvement of lymph nodes in abdomen. It is not worrisome. I need to look for proper history for that.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ammara Kaleem, Pediatrician
