Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I developed what I think is palpitations and they just come on suddenly,,sometimes 4 to 5 times a day and sometimes I can go a few days without any symptoms at all, I have also been having heartburn real bad for months can that be related to the palpitations I have been expierencing...any advice will be appreciated
Dear I can understand your concern . Palpitations are abnormal awareness of heart beat. If you are frequently feeling this then it is always better to consult your physician for expert opinion and look whether they are because of any cardiac pathology or something else. You have not mentioned your age, sex, any chronic illness or whether you are taking any medicine etc. Apart from heart It may be because of hyperthyroidism , anaemia, anxiety etc. So complete history and examination is required to reach the diagnosis . In my opinion you consult your physician as soon as possible for further work up.hope this will help.
