What Causes Recurring Purplish Dark Brownish Patches On Feet?

Hello I need help with my feet. I ve had corns or calluses I don t know which one they are but when treated they go away then suddenly three to four days later their back. And purplish dark brownish. I also have the rough patch of dark skin on the back of my heel just like the ones on my toes. I remember I had a blister long time ago and maybe it s a result from removal. I really just would like to get rid of them. It s been years and I m fed up with living with ugly feet. I ve tried everything from liquid corn removal to pads. If you can help me with done advice I would appreciate it.

Hi and welcome to HCM!
yes , i totally agree with you that corns, calluses and rough skin make our feet look so ugly!! But you do not need to worry as they are perfectly treatable and you will have nice feet soon..
Corns and calluses develop as a result of continuous friction of skin against a surface, usually in the weight bearing areas. As a defense mechanism to protect the underlying nerves the skin responds with becoming hard. However sometimes it impinges on the underlying nerves and that is the cause of pain! First of all you need to check your footwear for any rough surfaces and see that they are soft soled and completely comfortable. Secondly, you should daily keep your feet immersed in lukewarm water for 5-10 minutes and then gently exfoliate the skin over sole with a foot scrubber. Apply a generous amount of glycerine or creams containing urea over the sole and cover them with socks. Over the patchy dark skin you can apply a glycolic acid containing preparation which would help both in reducing pigmentation and softening of skin.
Hope you find this useful and get beautiful feet in no time!
