Hi, I'm 25 female. generally fit and well but i have had repeated bouts of tonsilitis this last year. In august i was in hospital with a quinsy. 10days ago I started with fever, swollen neck nodes (particularly posterior chain) white patches on tonsils, and vomiting. I started taking Pen V had for a week now. and though my throat is not sore ( i can swallow ok) i still have pus on my tonsils and fever. I can taste the pus and I'm vomiting (both when feverish and as the pus tastemakes me nauseous). what should i do?
Hi , As per your clinical history it appears as you are having Chronic Tonsilitis. In this condition minute pus filled area remain in tonsil which causes repeated infection. Start regular antiseptic mouthwash , Plenty of fluids , Paracetemol + Ibuprofen combination. You already had Quinsy which is a complication of chronic tonsilitis . This is a indication for tonsillectomy. so consider tonsillectomy for chronic tonsillitis.
Hope above information helpful to you. Regards - Dr KK ( Karade )
