What Causes Recurring Urinary Tract Infections?

I keep getting recurring yeast infections and utis. I am 18 and a female. I am in pain from what I believe is a uti. I had one about 6 months ago, took antibiotics, which caused a yeast infection. I haven't been able to get rid of the yeast for over 6 months.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query.Recurring UTI in females can be due to change in vaginal PH and normal flora.Even yeast infections also can cause due to this. You should also keep proper hygiene while washing genital. While washing anal area you should go in one motion backwards.Proper antibiotic therapy should be taken for proper duration.Usually Nitrofurantoin is effective in recurrent urinary infections.Urine culture and sensitivity should be tested also. You can also use intimate wash or gels which helps in normalizing vaginal bacterial flora and PH and there by prevent getting further infections.Hope this may help you.
Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
