What Causes Red And Itchy Patch On Both Sides Of The Bum Crack?
For about a month I have had a distinct red and itchy patch both sides of my bum crack which started at the top then worked down to the middle part. At the onset my vagina was also irritated but that has gone. I have tried Canesten Dermaid and Resolve 1% thinking its fungal. I also get dermatitis in my scalp and ears sometimes down the sides of my nose which responds to Dermaid although nothing seems to get rid of it completely. Are they related ? and what should I be using to clear the bum crack problem ?
Hello Thank you for posting on HCM From your description, it seems you have got Tinea corporis, a sort of fungal skin infection. I would recommend you consult a dermatologist for proper management. I generally recommend proper course of oral antifungal drug like fluconazole / itraconazole along with local application of sertaconazole or luliconazole cream over affected areas. Take oral antihistaminics for itching as required. Hope this will take care of your problem Thank you Dr Hardik Pitroda
