Ophthalmologist 's  Response
It is too early to comment on the cause of the redness based on symptoms alone. It is possible that she has a pink eye or it could be due to an eye allergy. She can go to work if there is no pain or watering along with the redness. She can use OTC lubricating eye drops for about a week. In case of a pink eye it would subside within the next 5-6 days naturally. In case symptoms persist or worsen, then do consult your ophthalmologist for a closer look and further treatment.
