What Causes Red Itchy Bumps At The Site Of IV Antibiotics?

I received intravenous antibiotics about 3 weeks ago. The IV site had healed fine until about a week ago when I came off the antibiotics. The site then formed two red, itchy (similar to a bug bite) bumps and I am wondering why or what I need to do now.
