What Causes Red Itchy Bumps On Ankle, Wrist, Lower Back And Arms?
I had some red bumps that i broke out in about a couple weeks ago. they started on my ankle and then spread to my wrist and lower back and itched tremendously. upon applying cortisone 10 the bumps on my back and ankle have basically disappeared but the ones on my wrist are still being kind of stubborn. the redness has gone away and they are really small now and dont itch but still there in a cluster. now when i woke up today i noticed 3 really red bumps in a straight line on my arm and a couple other bumps a inch or so from it. a doctor i went to told me it could be a rare form of shingles (but no burning) (but all on right side of my body) or an allergic reaction to something but he does not know what. im now thinking maybe bed bugs? please help
The symptoms seem more of an allergic reaction to food or cloth or an insect bite. Dermatographia, which is sometimes called “skin writing,” refers to a condition in which seemingly minor scratches turn into temporary but significant reactions can also be the cause.Scratches can irritate your skin, but they tend to heal quickly. Some scratches are white against the skin, while others redden slightly. With dermatographia though, the scratches worsen, causing deep wounds or even allergy-like reactions.
Antihistamines and steroids are the treatment for all the above allergic reactions.Oral antihistamines can be taken for 15 to 20 days at night until symptom subsides.
