What Causes Red Itchy Rashes Around Ankle?

I recently broke my ankle (tibia) about a month ago and had surgery to put in 1 screw. I am now in a walking boot and can even walk without it. I noticed that I have a red dotted rash around my ankle and it itches as well. I am really not sure what this is or how I can hp it..? My mom said it might be a heat rah but I don t know. Thank you!!

Hi.
As per your case history you are having irritant dermatitis.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like fusiderm-b cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
