i was diagnosed and treated for chlamydia( with doxycycline) 8 days ago. The stinging after urination has finally gone away. However the last two days i had minor pain in my lower back and a red itchy scrotum. today my scrotum has seemed to start going back to normal.... is this just post chlamydia symptoms or should i get myself tested for herpes?
Nice to know that the stinging pain in the urethra has gone down with Doxycyclin for Clamydia. The back pain can be due to local muscular problem or referred pain from Prostatitis or urinary problems. Redness on the scrotum can be due to dermatitis due to clamydia itself or local skin problem. It is good that it is getting cleared.
I would advise you further care as follows: Clean the area with plain water 2 to 3 times a day. Apply Liquid Povidone Iodine locally 2 times a day. Continue Doxycyclin for 3 weeks. Drink plenty of oral fluids. You will be fine.
