What Causes Red Itchy Welts On The Arms?

I have red itchy welts accompanied by bruises on my extremities. It started on one leg and has not spread to both arms. I am a bit nervous that it might be something serious since I have tried allergy medicine and creams with no results. Plus, on the original leg, the welts and bruises seem to be moving up my leg and every couple of days I find a new itchy welt and a new bruise higher up.

Hi.
As per your case history you are having papular urticaria or allergic dermatitis.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream twice daily on affected skin.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for itching.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
