What Causes Red Lump On The Skin?

Hi My son has had his needles yesterday and now there is a red mark two inches from the injection point. It has a hard lump underneath. It is almost like he has been biten by something but there is nothing around to bite him as we have been indoors. Should I be concerned?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello. I just read through your question. This is not something to be immediately concerned. about. it will most likely last a few days and then shrink in size. if at any point you notice the area of the redness rapidly increasing, or if you notice no shrinking in the next week, I recommend consulting with your doctor. In that case, it could be a skin infection requiring antibiotic treatment.
