What Causes Red Mark And Pain On Mid Spine?

My 16 year old son has a red mark and pain on his mid spine. He said it hurts in just that spot where the red mark is. He was riding a ride at a carnival last night. Is it possible he just bruised it? Over two years ago he had a very very slight curvature found in his spine. The doctor said it was nothing to worry about. Could it be related to that? Thank you, Jodi

Hi I did review your concern.
Was this mark present since birth?
Does it contain hair?
These are 2 important questions to be asked.
It can be a congenital lesion present over spine and if there are no neurological signs over lower legs.
Also it can be something benign and reactive in nature.
If there is swelling over the lesion you can get a biopsy or fine needle aspiration cytology to know more about the cells it contains.
I hope this helps.
Wish you all the best.
