What Causes Red, Painful And Swollen Upper Earlobe?

Hi, our eight year old has a red and swollen upper earlobe that she said is painful. I, gave her benadryl thinking it was an allergic reaction and ibuprofen for pain. I cleaned the area with warm soap and water then with hydrogen peroxide. Hydrocortisone cream was added. It is no cyst or pimple and nothing is oozing out. Should I take her to see a doctor?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history about your 8 year old daughter developing redness on the upper earlobe. You have given benedryl thinking of an allergic reaction, ibuprofen for pain, cleaned the area with warm water and soap, then hydrogen peroxide, and applied Hydrocortisone cream.
Well, you have done a great job.
It is better to take her to the Doctor as he must have seen far more cases to decide the cause of this and add on any other medicine as may be thought necessary your Doctor.
