What Causes Red Painful Lump On The Jaw?

My jaw has been swollen for about 2 weeks now nd yesterday I noticed there is a red lump on the outside of my jaw. I felt the inside by my teeth but don t feel anything. The lump is bright red, tender to the touch, and feels soft. What could this be???

Hi,
From history it seems that due to some infection in the mouth like carious teeth, tartered teeth or some soreness or ulcer in the mouth can give rise to enlarged tender lymph nodes.
Consult oral surgeon and find out the source of infection.
Keep oral hygiene proper.
Ok and take care.
