What Causes Red Patch/burning Feeling On Penis After Having Unprotected Sex?

Hello. I just had unprotected sex about 2 hours ago. I came home and got in the shower. When I came out of the shower, I noticed a burning feeling on the left side of my penis. Its a red patch, and its raised. Now I don t think it s an std. But I am worried. This has never happened before. Do you have any idea what it could be ?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

Burning sensation over the penis following sex contact could be due to mild abrasion during sex. It might be due to forcible sex act or lack of lubrication during sex etc. It could heal spontaneously even without any interference.

But as you had unprotected sex, this could be a way of entry for STD/ HIV.
Have a check up for STD/HIV after 8- 12 weeks. Try to stick to safe sex in future.
