What Causes Red/purplish Circle Around Lip And Chin Of A Child?

My 5 year old daughter has a red/purplish circle around upper lip, sides of lips and chin. (yogi bear style). I saw her sucking air from her cup which stuck to her mouth for not more than a minute...could she have raptures her blood vessels and if so what is this condition called in md? Thanks in advance, kF Malta

Hello,

Possible causes like apthous ulcer must be ruled out. The negative pressure created by sucking air for a long time can also cause mucosal injury and these signs. It will be better if you attach a picture in the followup query.
