What Causes Red Sore Skin Of Shoulders After Sun Burn?
Hi I got sumburn 5 days ago on my shoulders its really red and sore I was using Nivea after sun with aloe Vera and was making it better I had a shower last night then my shoulders peeled and the skin now is bright red and sore and stinging !!! I have now been applying aloe Vera gel but it's stinging it really bad what can i do please
Sunburn can be very discomforting not only during the acute phase but also when it is peeling off after a few days, because any movement at the area of skin peeling would cause pain.
The new skin that becomes obvious after the dead skin has peeled off, is pink and sensitive, which can easily develop irritation to products like Aloe vera etc.
You could use topical moderately potent topical steroid e.g fluticasone propionate cream, twice daily for a week, till the dead skin peels off and the redness subsides.
Always use a broad spectrum sunscreen, throughout the day.
regards
