What Causes Red Sore Spot On My Left Tonsil With Dull Sore Throat?
I have a red sore spot on my left tonsil I just noticed this, however I have had dull sore throat for last month was given augmentin, told it was probably sinus drainage causing throat to be sore also had fever for a couple days and was very fatigue for about two weeks. What should I do about this sore spot on tonsil?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
As per your complain a sore spot on tonsil can be due to bacterial or viral infection causing inflammation of tonsils causing Tonsillitis. Post nasal drip cauused by sinus infection can be another cause for inflammation of tonsils.. Fever occurs when the infection enters the blood stream and the body's defence mechanism in an attempt to wall of the infection causes rise in body temperature.. Nothing to worry, take another course of antibiotics like Augmentin for 5 days. Anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen should be taken. Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily.. Do warm saline gargles. Steam inhalations and saline nasal sprays can help in sinus congestion relief.. Use a humidifier in your room.. Take a soft diet..
Hope this information helps..
