What Causes Red Spot On Throat?

My daughter has a sore throat. I checked her throat and there are red dots on her throat and roof if her mouth. Her tonsils look swollen. She also had a temperature of 102.1 yesterday and is still at 100. What could be wrong? Should I take her to the hospital or wait until Monday to try and get her into her Pediatrician?

Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
The red spot over the throat can be because of the bacterial infection. The swollen throat can be because of the peritonsillar abscess. Nothing to be panic, consult an Otolaryngologist and get it evaluated. You need to take a course of antibiotics like ciprofloxacin (if you are not allergic) after consulting the physician. Do saline gargling.
I hope i have answered your query. Take care
