What Causes Red Spots On The Face After Taking Vitamin B-complex?
Our daughter, age 32, about 5 5 and 200 lbs. She has red spots on her face. She took a b-complex vitamin this morning after eating breakfast and then shortly lost her breakfast. She said it s petechial hemorrhaging. I have never heard of it. I never really heard of anyone having a allergic reaction to vitamins either. She says the spots are blood and apparently these vitamins have upset her stomach before. One of her grandmothers has diabetes and she also had great grandparents on both sides of the family that had diabetes. She lives in the Cities and I m in the Brainerd area. Am I a overly concerned parent? I m sorry. I thought this was a free service.
The spots on her face and the vomiting are not indicative of diabetes.
If she wishes to be assessed for diabetes then she can have a fasting blood sugar test or a 2 hour after blood sugar test or HbA1c.
One of these would be diagnostic of diabetes.
The spots are likely related to the vomiting, the excess pressure required to expel stomach contents can sometimes cause flushing or red appearance to the skin.
I hope this helps
