What Causes Red Spots On The Legs After A Long Flight Journey?

I have had red spots on my legs from petikia (SP) before with heat and swelling after long flights to Asia or EU, but now they are worse. We flew back from Vienna on 27th of Sept and I did have surgery on my uterus to remove to polyps on 29th. Saw my dermatologist this morning and he is not sure what is causing them but wants to order a full lipid panel and check on my platelets. What would be causing that? Karol

Hi.
As per your case history you are having purpuric rash.
My treatment advice is -
1. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily.
2. Take a vitamin c supplement once daily for 30 days.
3. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, topical steroid cream given only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
