What Causes Red Stools In A Child?
my two year old has been sick with an ear infection and cough, and he started vomiting as well on thursday. he's already on antibiotics.
about 10 minutes ago, i changed his diaper, and his stool was red. i mean it was almost the color of red velvet cake. right at his hole it was bloody when i wiped.
he did strain a bit while going, but would it cause pure red like that? i'm trying not to freak out.

By what you quote I feel it could be an antibiotic induced diarrhoea or colitis. This usually happens in antibiotics used for ear infection especially Amoxycillin Clavulenate and Amoxycillin. I suggest you consult your paediatrician right now.
