What Causes Red Swollen Bump After An Insect Bite?
I got bit by an insect this morning but I don t know what kind of bug it was. It itches at first but about 1/2 hour ago I noticed it was swollen up to about 1 inch by 2 inches and it is very red. Not sure what I should do about it but I have never had this happen before.

Hi,
Donot worry a little allergic reaction due to insect bite is common due to release of histamines. you can apply calamine lotion on it. donot rub or scratch.
You can take one tablet cetrizine 10mg . The redness and swelling will come down. Make sure you donot drive after taking this medication. in some individuals it may cause drowsiness.
