What Causes Reddish Bumps On Arms And Legs With Fever?

I took my 25 month old to his dr. 3 days ago and was told he had a virus because of fever and loss of appetite. This morning (after sweating all night)i noticed small red bumps spread all over his legs and arms, but mostly on his knees and where the edge of his diaper sits. Is this a heat rash even though he wasn t sweaty on his legs at all? And how can I treat it?

Hi,

This is the rash associated with viral illness. Nothing to be worried. It will disappear in 3-4 days. If itchy, apply calamine lotion over there.
