What Causes Redness And Brown Spots Beneath The Breasts?

I have a skin irritation under my breasts. It’s been present for years, the skin sometimes itches and burns after a long day. It doesn’t always have itching associated with it, but it’s always visible. It looks red, where it is very irritated and brown spots. The skin looks dry like it could crack.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

According to your complaints it seems to be intertrigo which is inflammation of the body folds. I would recommend you to keep the area dry, wear cotton bra, use a powder under the breast and apply a topical steroid and anti-fungal like cortisone cream and miconazole cream on the affected areas twice daily for 2-3 weeks. This will reduce the redness and itching.
