My son had sand thrown in his eye this morning but I only found out when fetched from school- now eyelid is puffy and peri-orbital skin is red. Conjunctiva not really red, blood vessels slightly more enlarged than other eye but not obvious. Eye sensitive to light and sore. Eye not visibly tearing but his nose is runny so obviously tearing internally.
Would a cornea abrasion cause outer eye to be red instead of inside? Must I adopt wait and see or take him to ophthalmologist or GP in the morning?
I reviewed your history. These symptoms require eye examination to look for presence of sand particles if any in the eye and we need to rule out corneal abrasion also.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.
