What Causes Redness Around A Skin Cut On Leg?

Hi Five days ago I cut my leg gardening. I cleaned it well and have kept it covered. It is healing but below it going to my ankle is very red. If I rub my finger along the red area it turns normal color buts quickly turns back to red. Is this something to be concerned about.

Hi. Is the area warm too? I think you are developing cellulitis or erysepalas- bacterial infection common after cuts or injury. You need to take a course of appropriate antibiotic- antibiotic covering staphylococci and streptococci. Thanks
