my mother has redness in her iris. the entire white area is become red in colour .it looks like a blood clot .she has seen an eye specialist & is on medication . wanted to know the reason for this redness & how long will it take for the redness to get cleared completely ?
Hello It seems from the history that your mother is having redness like a blood clot. I guess this is on sclera and not on iris as iris is the inner part of the eye. This is probably subconjunctival hemorrhage. This occurs most commonly following injury but can occur spontaneously also. If this is the condition then n need to worry as it will resolve by its own and it may take 2-3 weeks to resolve.
Thank you
