What Causes Redness Of Eye After Reducing The Dosage Of Steroid Eye Drop?
Hello, I had two surgeries to repair a partially-detached retina (1st one didn t work, 2nd one with scleral band did work). Because these surgeries were 3 weeks apart, I have been on a steroid eye drop for 8 weeks. My ophthalmologist said to reduce from 4 times/day to 3 times/day for two weeks, then to stop using them. When I stopped by eye got red and swollen again. Should I be weaning myself off them more slowly? Thank you.

I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having redness of eyes following reducing the dose of steroideye drop following surgery for detached retina. This indicates recurrence of inflammation which was under control because of use of steroid drop. Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for adjustment of the dosage of the steroid eye drop according to the inflammation.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and prescription of drugs.
Hope the information is helpful to you. Do write back to me for further questions.
Thank you With regards
