What Causes Redness On Face Of A Child?

My 19 month old son got the top part of his ear lobe pinched pretty bad under the ottoman of a chair. He never acted like he was in so much pain :( a purple spot about the size of a nickel instantly showed up and that whole side of his face is red. do I take him to the hospital?

Hello. I just read through your question. Sounds like he has a bruise as a result of The injury. This is generally nothing to worry about. It resolves on its on after a few days, sometimes a couple of weeks. There is no need to go to an ER.
